Actually Chorus of a song named 'Godless' I forgot the band though.
Gotten a few questions in chat about my posting, I'd like to take a moment to answer them.
1) I know it's an AAT board, but as a player, I'm a moderate. I have a life and cannot devote the time (Or anger) to be a great player. Most of my hints and tips to playing can be found in other(better) players blogs, so I dedicate my blogs mostly to ranting, lending a player playing with, or against me, an idea of what they've gotten themselves into
2) After the recent temp ban on a ranting player, I want to say my own peace (not a typo) . I am, by nature, an evil man. I took me 36 years to get this way, and I feel I have a number of years left to work on it. That being said, I agree whole-heartedly with the stand against profanity. Here on the net I've noticed that the people who swear the most tend to be the youngest. I'm far from a prude myself, having used every word not in the book, plus a number of wonderful combinations of those words . However, there are better ways to express one's anger. First play better, second, think better. I've gotten a few players of balance and swearing at me a few times, in fact I enjoy it most of the time. If I can get the other player off-balance by that much, then they get sloppy. In AAT, Sloppy Joes get eaten. (Quote that one, my Lords ).
3) I've had a few questions over the past couple of days regarding my religious beliefs, and the basis of them. I am an Agnostic/Atheist. I follow NONE of the tenets regarding the Judeo-Christian God, or Allah, or Adam God (Mormon), or Buddist, Norse,Pagan, Hindu, or any of the others that believe that they have the ONE Truth. I did not have a 'turning away point', I'm not a lost faithful, I was never found. I was raised to allow myself a choice, and I have chosen None of the Above. I do not recommend it to others, it is not an easy system, since I have no 'Higher Power' to believe in, anything that happens to and around me I must break down to a rational reason. It can be lonely at times, and humbling. On a Universal time scale, our whole human history is equal to a flash of light on a dust mote. 20,000 years from now, nothing of us will be remembered, save for some archeologist's footnote, maybe.
The biggest question/arguement I get is on the 'Afterlife'. I have no desire to live FOREVER. Forever is a really, really damn long time. What kind of value can you put on life, when you know that it's just a short time in a forever existence? But, according to most beliefs, what you do in this 'short' period of time determines how you spend the rest of that exisitence. Play any game, while reading/learning the rules, against an experienced player, and see who wins. If somehow you win, either the other player 'let' you win, or it's 'Beginner's Luck'. Faith seems to me to be based on' Beginner's Luck' Sounds cold, but it's my opinion.
Morals: I don't need a religion to tell me right from wrong, I had Parents. Hurting other people is bad, hurting other people who hurt other people, good. Simple? Golden Rule.
Life is worth living simply because it is. When it no longer becomes worth living, with no hope of reversal (ex. terminal case) then it is time to go. Knowledge is good, It's application can be horrible. We as a species, are better than the rest of the world, just not by very much. Try not to mess it up too much while your here.
